Geometric Tattoos

Geometric tattoos have evolved into a massively popular, multi-faceted style. Often, you’ll see geometric tattoo designs using influences as diverse as realism and cubism.

Some of these geometric tattoos are elaborate patterns that interweave to create visually entrancing designs (if that’s more your style, check the #geometrip hashtag on Instagram). Others are simple, often fine line style tattoos that incorporate geometric elements. Regardless of which style you prefer, there’s no shortage of amazing geometric tattoo work. We’ve selected some standouts below.

Geometric Tattoo Designs

Below, we’ve curated a number of the most eye-catching geometric tattoo designs from around the world. We tried to include as much variety as possible and call out popular styles.

You’ll see everything from simple linework, to elaborate designs; classic geometric art and modern. There are even a few styles that incorporate realism into their design. No matter what you’re looking for, as long as it’s a geometric piece, we’ve probably got it represented here.

You’ll also notice that we keep the artists’ names associated with their work. We do this because amazing artists deserve recognition. If you like these geometric tattoo designs and want to support the artists, then please share the page! (Thanks!)

Simple Geometric Tattoos

Fine line waves created using lines. Similar to a spirograph, this tattoo uses lines of varying thickness and concentration to achieve the look of depth and contour. You can bet this took a while.

This hand tattoo is pretty unique. Working around some existing ink, a variation in line angle, thickness, and proximity give this tattoo a distinctly Polynesian look.

Large Geometric Tattoos

Interlocking patterns highlight this unusual and beautiful tattoo by Marta Matinks
all-in geometric design

If you love something, you should be all-in. Nothing says “all-in” like a body suit, especially one that’s comprised of an elaborate geometric design. Amazing work by Corey Divine.

Another piece from Josh Stephens

Another piece from Josh Stephens at Hold It Down Tattoo. This piece uses geometric aspects, but also incorporates mandalas, flowers, and some incredible, bold linework.

Geometric Animal Tattoos

Bear that is drawn in a topographic style

This tattoo by Facu Ontiveru features a bear that is drawn in a topographic style, as well as geometric elements, linework, and dotwork. It’s a varied and interesting piece.

Tattoo wolf in a geometric style

James Nidecker did an amazing job capturing this wolf in a geometric style.

Tattoo by Facu Ontiveru

Another tattoo by Facu Ontiveru, this piece also utilizes a topographic style of linework in addition to geometric aspects. The final piece is pretty impressive.

Geometric animal tattoos

This one hasn’t been put on skin yet, but it is a killer example of geometric animal tattoos. This geometric ram was drawn by Marta Matinks.

Geometric Flower Tattoos

American Traditional Tattoo

Nora Bouziane created this striking geometric flower tattoo that incorporates fine linework yet has a bold style. The contrast of the piece really catches your eye.

Geometric flower tattoo by Nora Bouziane

A second geometric flower tattoo by Nora Bouziane. This one omits the dark, contrasting piece and leaves us with a wireframe of the flower inside a triangular frame.

Unique Geometric Tattoos

These geometric tattoos take a step outside of the trends that are popular in this style and create something wholly unique. Many incorporate color as an added dimension of design, but you’ll also note that some styles are nods to geometric artists of the past.

Yet another from traditional American tattoo style, while relying on a geometric subject matter.

Toko Lore geometric style tattoo

Toko Loren brings something new to the table with this watercolor-style geometric tattoo. The central design is geometric, but the “outside of the lines” watercolor style makes it colorful and interesting.

Laura Martinez did this excellent pineapple tattoo

While on the subject of colored geometric tattoos, this piece by NEO highlights the drama a little color can bring to a brilliantly executed design.

“art nerd” Inspired by the work of Entouane Blague

This is classic and likely a piece for a true “art nerd”. This tattoo is inspired by the work of Entouane Blague. We love a little Bahaus style in a tattoo.

Laura Martinez pineapple tattoo

Laura Martinez did this excellent pineapple tattoo. The fine linework here looks great and the geometric approach works really well with the subject matter. Also, who wouldn’t want a pineapple tattoo?

Final Thoughts on Geometric Tattoos

Are you feeling ink-spired and ready for your next tattoo appointment? Do you have something “geometric” on your mind?

Sure you have! After all of these amazing tattoos, you must have something up your sleeve. But where do you want to put it? Maybe a tattoo pain chart can help you out, especially if your geometric tattoo is a complex one. Good luck!
